    Guidelines for your Self-Tape Audition
Begin your self-tape with a brief introduction about yourself.
Monologue should be a maximum length of 2 minutes (can be an excerpt from a longer piece)
No Shakespeare, contemporary pieces preferred (for example a tv show, movie, even monologue blog websites)
Plain clothes and simple background preferred.
Film in landscape orientation is preferred (portrait is also accepted as long as we can clearly see your performance).
Film from a short distance away - acting is as much about physicality as it is about voice.
Make sure you position yourself so we can see your lovely face and not just your side profile the whole time (one way to do this is imagine the person you're talking to is standing right next to the camera.)
Double check your privacy settings one last time before submitting. We have had applications where we could not view the file without permissions.
Thank you for applying for The National Acting School.
